Murat Güney is a Turkish Baritone who was born in Ankara. He began his education at Hacettepe State Conservatory, than he continued his education at Mimar Sinan State Conservatory and gratuated with a successful high degree. After his graduation, he also kept studying with his vocal coaches Licinio Montefusco and Meral Manizade.
At 2005, he qualified to sing at Istanbul State Opera and Ballet House as a solist baritone. He also performed major baritone roles at Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Antalya and Samsun State Opera Houses in Turkey. He also performed with orchestras such as Turkish Presidential Symphony Orchestra, İstanbul State Symphony Orchestra and Eskişehir State Symphony Orchestra.
He has performed with distinguished conductors Fabrizio Ventura, Alexander Samolia, Gionluca Bianchi, Alessandra Murzi, Vladimir Lungu, Raoul Grüneis, Borislav Ivanov, Peter Valentovic, Markus Baisch, Christian Deliso, Tulio Gagliardo Varas, Lorenzo Castriota Skanderbeg, Zdravko Lazarov and Antonio Pirolli. He has performed with some distinguished stage managers Flavio Trevisan, Giampaoli Zennaro, Vincenzo Grisostomi Travaglini and Kuzman Popov, too.
At 2012, he performed 'Germont' from La Traviata at Theatre Auditori Felip Pedrell in Tortosa, Spain. At 2013, he performed the same role 'Germont' successfully at Theatro Don Bosco in Rome, Italy. After his performance Alessandro Alfieri wrote critics about his vocal and acting success in La Traviata. He wrote 'Murat Güney was exactly gave us the feeling of an Italian father who was very sensitive. And gave a gift to all of us while singing his aria 'Di Provenza il mar, il suol''.
He has sung a wide repertoire of both concert music and opera from the 17th century to contemporary music. He gave recitals at St. Gallen in Switzerland, Rome and Paris. At 2014, he was awarded with 'Mete Uğur Special Award' by Semiha Berksoy Opera Foundation. At 2018, he performed 'Figaro' from Il Barbiere di Siviglia at Oper im Berg in Salzburg, Austria.
His career still continues successfully as a solist baritone at Istanbul State Opera and Ballet.
